Changing Spaces Interior Design
A renovation to create the perfect home for family gatherings.
With this renovation, the owner wanted to transform the home into a contemporary, modern space with a comfortable and luxurious feel. The palette is neutral and natural, with shades of forest greens and plenty of texture to add layers throughout the home. Changing Spaces was responsible for drawing the plans for the renovation as well as the project management, selection of finishes, manufacture of all new furniture, and the new joinery and lighting.
This suburban home, chosen for its location close to family, has been beautifully renovated to create ample entertainment space. The spacious open-plan living and flow is seamless, allowing for large and festive family gatherings. A covered patio ensures that celebrations can continue even in inclement weather.
The interiors, exquisitely styled by Changing Spaces Interior Design, are warm and homely. “The choice of fabrics and materials makes this home unique, and the colour palette with its shades of green as well as natural, neutral and sandy tones is timeless,” says Cheryl Herweg of Changing Spaces.

As the owner renovated an existing home, the modern design is enhanced by the skilled arrangement of furniture.
One of the standout features is the oak table in the entrance hall, with its strikingly crafted screen separating it from the dining area. There are also custom-made furnishings throughout the home selected to fit each space perfectly.

Artist Joanne Milne was briefed to produce three acrylic paintings on Belgian linen – a king protea and two waxbills. The pieces work perfectly with the overall feel and tone of this room. The abstract edge of Milne’s paintings allows the warmth of the visible linen to add balance to the overall work. Milne is a prolific painter, frequently working by commission.
